I guess I am considered a “hippie”-type of gal. All of these are the schools I have applied to but it is really hard to pick one! Give me some advice!

Have you visited all of these schools? If you haven’t, read on… if you have, you just need to listen to your gut instinct…

That is the most important thing you can do, when it was time for me to pick a college I visited a lot. The college I am at now, a small, private school in San Antonio, was love at first visit… everything just seemed to fit perfectly and I was in love. The other colleges I visited went to were cool, but none seemed to fit like my school now. However, I picked… don’t ask me why… a large state school here in Texas because it just seemed fun and cool vs. the smaller, more challenging choice. I was miserable and ended up transferring to “my first love” school the next semester and couldn’t be happier.

Even if you are considered a hippie kind of girl, that doesn’t mean you will like the school. Trust me, I once considered myself a “hippie” chic but that definition can vary greatly.

You need to think about your major and meet the professors in that department. What kind of vibe do you get from the kids on that campus? Make sure you get to talk to them, and find random people to talk to, of course your campus guides are going to make it sound good. (I recommend the library, people are usually tired and sick of studying and cursing the day their prof was born… but if they can still say good things about it, it must be good!)

Is the school going to be too big for you? You might not get the kind of experience you want because you are trying to find your niche.

Good luck and you will love it! I have had the most amazing four years of my life and it truly made a huge difference in finding a school were the minute I walked on campus it just clicked.
