What kind of delays to expect at Hawaii Airports? (Frequent Flyer)?

homebuyeratl asked:

I am trying to schedule some island hoping where I leave Honolulu (HNL) airport for some single day adventures on other islands(ITO (Hilo – Big Island), OGG (Kahulu – Maui)).

The problem is I am not sure how long of a delay to expect at these airports. As a frequent flyer I know some airports are quicker than others. If it takes 1.5 hours from check-in (no bag checks) to boarding then I do not want to schedule a 7A flight. I just want to maximize my time on the seperate island, while also maximizing my sleep on the main one.

As long as you are not traveling during a time of inclement weather, there are rarely delays for inter-island flights. It’s a major source of pride for the airlines, and is frequently mentioned in their advertising.

I just got back from Hawaii yesterday! Honolulu International is probably the best airport I’ve ever visited. REAlly fast check in and security. I walked up to check in, I was the only one, so the lady quickly checked me in instead of me having to use the electronic machine to get boarding pass. No line for security and i had no delays. I love Hawaii, you should definately go
