How can I get a Hawaii Drivers license if I’m revoked in IL?
Steve L asked:
I’ll be moving to Hawaii in about 11 months, and I am currently revoked in IL for 1 DUI. What do I have to do to get a valid driver’s license once I am settled in Hawaii? I’ll be on the big island in Hilo. I have cleared up everything that needs to be cleared up in IL, all I have left to do in IL is go to a hearing or two. But I’m not going to bother until I move to Hawaii since I am in college right now and don’t really need it.

Both Hawaii and Illinois are members of the Drivers License Compact. This means you have only one drivers license record which they share. I think it will be easier for you if you got your license reinstated while you are still in Illinois. That way you simply exchange your valid Illinois license for a Hawaiian one.

Well. your going to HAVE to clear up everything, Including your “Hearings or two” in Il. If not you’ll get to Hilo and they will not let you get a license. So, Take my advise and fix It first. Your not done until Its done. meaning when they say you can get your license back in say 30 suspension that’s when. BUT if for some reason your Revoked! forget about it. It’s not going to happen In Hawaii. Sorry

You will need to complete all of the requirements in IL to be eligible to have your IL license reinstated.
If you move to HI before you are eligible for reinstatement, then you will need to contact HI DMV and see what needs to be done to forfeit your IL license and obtain a HI license.
