The trip from the Kona Coast to the Hilo side is marked with oddly perfect hills, tufted grasslands, the brightest greens I’ve ever seen, farmland and lots of ocean. This video doesn’t have enough of that stuff, really, but what it does have is mongooses, Volcano National Park (where I once stayed for a week as a kid), the Thurston Lava Tube (which freaked Bryan out), a Helicopter tour right over the gaping, lava-filled maw of Kilauea and some nifty tunes including the “Hawaiian War Chant …

its really boring here though :p. nah, its ok. to put a positive spin on it, it feels very “homey” when you’re in hilo. everything is right around the corner and its relatively quite.

Hey, excellent compilation, guys. I did a “doors off” helicopter flight over Kilauea’s Pu`u `O`o vent back in March with my daughter. Awesome! We’re going back next year.
